More information: The Ouled Abdoun basin extends over 100 km long and 80 km wide, over an area of more than 10,000 km2. It extends from Ben Ahmed and Settat to Zaouïat Cheikh and Khouribga in the north and extends beyond Oued Oum Errabiâ in the south, under the Beni Amir plain. To the east, it is bordered by the Kasba Tadla plain and to the west by the Rehamna massif. It covers the main extraction areas of Sidi Daoui, Merah Lahrach and Sidi Chennane. The Oulad Abdoun basin constitutes an important morphological unit that is almost tabular and very slightly undulating, with altitudes between 500 to 800 m. It corresponds to a stable platform that represents the final term (phosphate) of a sedimentary cover deposited between the red Infracenomanian and the Lutetian (Choubert & Faure - Muret, 1962), on a very strongly Paleozoic base, whose quartzites and schists "lie - de - vin" have been attributed to the Silurian (Salvan, 1955). The Ganntour basin outcrops between the Rehamna massifs in the north and the Jebilet in the south.
