Description: Exceptional and meticulous cleaning performed by expert hands using sandblasting. Minimal repair to the pygidium (nothing compared to most specimens of this species we have seen so far, which have undergone extensive restorations).

The Fezouata Formation, or Fezouata Shale, contains extraordinary fossils because the animals were quickly buried by storm deposits of silt and clay, favorable conditions for the preservation of soft tissue (now pyritized or altered by a mixture of iron oxides and hydroxides, hence their orange-red color). The fossils belong to two intervals, the Tremadocian and the Floian, which are much less fossil-rich.
