More information: The Ouled Abdoun basin extends 100 km in length and 80 km in width, covering an area of ​​over 10,000 km². It stretches from Ben Ahmed and Settat to Zaouïat Cheikh and Khouribga in the north and beyond Oued Oum Errabiâ in the south, beneath the Beni Amir plain. To the east, it is bordered by the Kasba Tadla plain and to the west by the Rehamna massif. It encompasses the main mining areas of Sidi Daoui, Merah Lahrach, and Sidi Chennane. The Ouled Abdoun basin constitutes a significant morphological unit that is almost tabular and very gently undulating, with altitudes ranging from 500 to 800 m. This corresponds to a stable platform representing the final (phosphate) layer of a sedimentary cover deposited between the red Infra-Cenomanian and the Lutetian (Choubert & Faure-Muret, 1962), overlying a very strong Paleozoic base, whose quartzites and "lie-de-vin" schists have been attributed to the Silurian (Salvan, 1955). The Ganntour Basin outcrops between the Rehamna massif to the north and the Jebilet massif to the south.
