Description: This unusual arthropod was expertly cleaned using a hammer drill and sandblasting. The fossil is well-preserved, 100% natural, and has not been restored or painted.
The Fezouata formation or Fezouata shale contains some extraordinary fossils because the animals were quickly buried by storm deposits formed by silt and clays, favorable conditions for the conservation of soft tissues (now pyritized or altered due to a mixture of oxides and iron hydroxides, hence its orange-red color)
The fossils belong to two intervals, Tremadocian and Floian, much less rich in fossils.
This piece will travel insured in a safety package to arrive in perfect condition.
