Chondrites are the oldest materials in the solar system, with an estimated age of formation of 4.55 billion years. 

The characteristic of chondrites is the presence of chondrules, small balls of millimeters in size, composed largely of silicates. 
The standard model for their initial formation is that they occur during the condensation of the solar nebula, of cosmic dust. 
Chondrites are considered to be the first elements from which planets are formed.
